1515 1y f in e-maxx

I just bought my first neu 1515 1y f and mm to replace my hv 6.5 novak. I put it in and it is slow:confused: the novak ran like 34mph and the neu looks like 28mph... same 4cell lipos, same gearing 16 pinon and stock spur... Any help

What is the KV on the 1515 1Y? The 1512 1Y is 2750KV and geared 20/68 it will double the speed my boy's truck gets with the Novak HV 6.5 geared 12/68. I could probably go up a little on gearing for it, but he doesn't need it any faster yet. The MM is a little weak against the Neu though. The diference between the MMM and the MM is very noticable. The MM lacks the punch and isn't as fast on the top either. Had to drop back to 18/68 to help the temps on the MM too. I vented the MM case and have two fans on it, but it just isn't quite up to MT duty. It will work until the MMMs get fixed and back in the game though. Things like 13awg battery and motor leads limit the power compared to the 10awg wire on the Monster, so I'm not really surprised.

the 1515 1 y is 2200kv. It dose not seem to have the torque like the novak either.

based on some estimates, to get about a 35mph with the stock spur, you need a 24T pinion.

The Mamba Max does feel less torquey definitely than the Mamba Monster. I got 80% punch control and I can easily flip the Emaxx on command with my Neu 1512 2.5D/F 2050Kv motor.
