The Hyperion Extra 260 40E

I wanted to get into larger 3D capable planes after being told that they are actually easier to learn with in most cases. I started with two different Yaks in the 25E class and decided to step up to this great kit offered by Hyperion. It's Hyperion Extra 260 40E. This plane is set up to run on a 5S 4000 Li-Po with the suggested power plant putting out over 900 watts of power. It also features airfoiled tail surfaces and a pull pull rudder as well. The quality of this kit is top notch as is all of the Hyperion planes. The best part is putting it together, in a few simple hours you'll have a very nice plane siting right in front of you. So sit back and I will walk you throught this kit. It's an easy build with very few steps.

Well thing's didn't go as planned last summer and it came down to the last flying weekend and I still had no esc for the Extra and I wasn't going to tempt fate with a cheapo. I've nothing but the best luck with Castle Creations and you simply can't beat the performance from them. So late last fall I got the PH-80 and a CC BEC unit. I installed them over the winter and went through the rough set-up on the plane. She is now ready to go. All that is left is for the weather to cooperate in this area so I can get out to the club and get here in the air. Here's some shots of it on the kitchen table. There's no doubt that it's big.

Here's the flight video. Sorry for it being rough it was pretty windy and that made for a really bad landing. Plane came out just fine. No damage.
