Its a low DC current and will run completely immersed underwater.... The batteries and brushed motor can take it! But you will difinitely have problems if circuits/curcuit boards get wet. BTDT!

I still break in certain spec motors underwater, but never have had the need to include the battery.

Now if you must split mud holes... put all your electrical components, including the battery in condoms/balloons and seal the openings. Then make lexan dams and/or partitions to keep water/mud off and away from the sealed components.

Take the high road, protect your stuff... my advice water and electrics don't mix.

Yes you can ruin any battery if submerged in water. Getting splashed isn't gonna kill them but anytime you introduce water into a pack your going to get some type of corrosion which in any form is not good. If you really need to run in water bag your electronics and your packs. But to be really safe stay away from it.

the E-maxx is water proof stock.
yeah lipo's are ok with water...but corrosion is BAD!!
put them in plastic bags and you should be ok, just dont submerse the car intentionally.

So how would you suggest we the inhabitants of the British Isles combat the wet stuff for LiPos?
It rains here quite happily on a regular basis, even when it's not supposed to, and that means at race meets, quite often, Everything gets wet! With Nims and NiCads it never seemed to be a problem and whilst i don't like the mess you have to clean up after a race in the mud and rain, it can make things interesting.
i guess it's a hunt for industrial quality bullet proof poly bags . . . .
