speed controller motor problems

after running oversized tyres on my rustler for about 20 minutes, i found that when i went to go into reverse i couldnt, still had brake and forward. motor was extremely hot, so i waited for it to cool down after about an hour tried again and still had no reverse. speed controller was flashing for reverse but does not respond. can anyone help? yes i am in sports mode.

You may have burned something in the esc. You need to remeber when you change tire/wheel size your basically changing your final gear ratio. So by all rights you should have re geared for those bigger wheels and tires.

I assume this is a brushless ESC/motor? There is no "reverse" set of FETs, direction is controlled by the order in which the coils are energized. That's weird.

And like Jason said, depending on the size tire, you should gear down at least 1-2 teeth.
