View Full Version : Hyperion EOS5i - charging through balance taps?

I have an EOS5i I bought from Maxmaps about a year ago, and it has served me well. Recently however I bought an E-Flite Blade CX2 and a few extra 800mah 2s packs for it. The included charger works, but it's very slow (2-2.5 hours) and without a voltage readout I can't tell how well the cells are balanced.

I know some chargers will support charging through the balance plug for low voltages, and since I would only be charging at 800mah at most, I'd like to go that route. I could change out all the plugs but being able to charge through the balance taps would be much easier.

I am using the LBA10 in conjunction with this, and it seems to detect the battery fine and indicates a cell discharge when connected in stand alone mode. However whenever I try to initiate the charging from the EOS5i I get the error of no battery connected.

Does this charger and balancer combination support charging through the balance tap line?

The Hyperion chargers charge thru the Main leads and Regulate thru the balance taps. You cannot charge a pack thru the balance taps. just get a Hyperion to Align adapter off our website Here: http://www.maxamps.com/categories.php?cat=173
