The Novak HV is the only 1/8 scale BL system remotely close to your budget and it's a little under $300.00

Thanks for your help! I think that I'm going to wait till the stock moters go up in it. Then I'll have a reason to go brushless.:D

With this setup you should be able to run 4 cell lipo 12 NIMH. for under $200.00.

Other motor choices. Now you get what you pay for.

From first hand experience I STRONGLEY recomend staying away from the XL motors, they are difficult to keep running cool via gear selection and the end bells of the motors are glued and pressed on. At least the Novak HV is rebuildable via screws to replace bearings or service.

Yeah, I don't like the Feigaos either, but for the money they're not terrible. I'm loving my Novak HV Pro 6.5 with the Novak Glitch Buster; my old problem of momentary stalls on take-off has yet to happen again since I put it on. I love it.

The Feigaos and Nemesis and the like are by NO MEANS junk or poop, the are purposely inexpensive for a reason. They are not expected to last and almost gaurenteed to have gearing and heat issues.
Dan,
Super glad to hear your problem is behind you and wish contiuence with the solution and happy results..

I totally agree with Bondo. Buy right, buy once. Might be more out of pocket at 1st, but will save you in the long run.
