my traxxas summit.

today i went to my local hobbytown and bought a new truck. a brand new traxxas summit. the color wasnt my first choice or even my second. but i am happy enough to have a summit. they only ha done so i didnt hav ea choice on color. all i wanted was to have any color other than white. and the only color they had was this one:

wow what a 1st bash. 5 trucks started the day and 5 trucks finished. thats right. all 5 vehicles used today survived some serious carnage. msot had some horrific rolls and flips. the only damages were:
front wheel came of the stampede (wheel was reinstalled but truck wasnt run)
front bumper support broke on the summit (wasnt being too careful with the truck except for the diffs)
wintermaxx body slightly damaged when i was bringing in the summit at the end of the day. smashed hard into the read end of wintermaxx and bent one corner of the body some.

the low amount of damage is surprising. considering all the vehicles are runnign basic parts for the most part. now i wasnt too gentel ont he summit and man. the truck delivered some higlight moments. like several times took a jump and the truck was in a wheelei and then landed upside down. or when i was having fun and did some crawling..................over the top of my slash which was driven by a friend. by the end i was chasing the slash around trying to smash into it. had some huge crashes and still. almsot no damage at all. the summit is big. it is fast. and it has the handling to outturn even a smaller stampede, emaxx, or slash. i really pushed all 3 of my vehicles while my buddy pushed his ahrd. his poor emaxx body was actually run over on purpose by the summit. it did no damage. the tires really got some good grip and allowed the truck to really outperform expectations. anyways here are all 5 vehicles after the bash:

It's a very nice looking truck, and I like the leds and locking diffs. I couldn't justify the money on that truck though, just not enough performance for me. It seems pretty durable. Have fun with the new rig.

do you know if you can change out the summit radio for a futaba?? i have been thinking about getting one of these but im not sure how the locking diffs would work with a different radio
