Ok so I had this little bad boy at the 2.2 Midwest Indoor nat's this past weekend so people could see what Don and I have been messing with. What we have done is eliminated the need for shocks on the rig. That's right with this set-up you don't have to spend 50 bucks for a full set of shocks. You can simply bolt on a set of delrin single leaf torsion springs. They are made to bolt right up to the shock mount holes in the side plates and then down to the shock mounts on the axle. Now I had two beta sets in it at the 2.2 Midwest indoor nat's, one set was thin the other was about twice as thick. These both proved to be to stiff so when I got home this weekend I sanded them down as best as I could to see what would work. I think I got it. The pictures should show the results very well. The first picture shows the flex that it had with the thick springs. It wasn't very much. The other two pic's show the flex with the thinner delrin leaf springs. Much better.

Here's some close ups of the springs shimmed out in the proper locations. Forgive my crude shims but this is part of testing. Make and build as you go. The first three shots show them just bolted on, but at flex the hit the lower links. The last shot shows two green shims putting the springs to the inside more, that allowed for lower link clearance and more flex.

We are currently having two new sizes cut based off of my testing. I will post up more info on them when I have had a chance to play with them bit.

Setup looks good!

Any more pics/info on how you did the BTA with the stock parts?

Here's some other shots that show it a bit closer. As far as the BTA it may not be possible with shocks in the way.

Here's something else we are working on. It's The DNA-RC Mini SSS chassis with a Dinky RC tuber bolted to it.

You asked where the Dinky RC tubers could be bought from. That is where they come from. What you see in the picture is a Dinky RC Tuber mounted onto a DNA RC mini SSS chassis. I did a little mod work to get that to work. You can't buy the two together like that.

The DNA RC mini SSS chassis I have on order and I am waiting for it to arrive. I was looking at the Dinky RC Tuber frame.
