So after many frustrated attempts at making a nitro MT operate and breaking it every time I took it out, I basically gave up on RC. This past month, one of the leaders of the 4-H program and Ag program at the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Paducah Campus (where I attend) asked me to help with the Fast Track RC program. This program is designed to introduce high school kids to the design and setup of a race car by using HPI Sprint 2 cars. The strength of these cars and their durability after several attempts at destroying them, as well as their run time being comparable to a nitro vehicle and much less messy and quieter made them appeal to me. I'm currently attempting to locate a Sprint 2 as well as a Short Course truck. I'd love to be able to buy a new Slash 4x4 but that isn't going to happen. I am currently researching how the electric stuff works and have put all my nitro for sale as I never wish to return to them. With the advancements in electric technology, I will definitely be getting into more of these. Sprint 2 and Slash are what I'm currently trying to buy, and a Savage Flux is something I'd like to have eventually as well.
Sorry for the long intro, but that's what this is for I think...

Sound's like High School has changed for the better, Wish they had that when I went to school. Short Course is a great class, they are short money or they can be big money, They race them outdoors as well as indoors, Off road and some onroad. Nitro can be fun, It takes alot of maintenence, time and now how to make them work good 70% of the time The other 30% is spent on figuiring out what is wrong.
I have found this site to have knowlegable members and great admins as well as great batteries. I have become very involved in my local R/C club and find that very rewarding as well as a good source of information.
Good luck, Be patient and have fun !!!

Definitely. I have been in college for 6 years (took one year off to work a co-op with Harley-Davidson) We never had the opportunities like this in high school, so I jumped on the opportunity to help out with the program.
As I've said in PMs and other posts, Thanks to everyone for their helpful responses over the past week. I'll be sure to post pics when I get my vehicles in
