My LHS has an indoor carpet track that they race on and off-road mini's on. The off-road races have ramps and whoops placed on the track and they are removed for the on road races.

I have raced my MLST at this track and had a ball with it but it was not a competetive truck for this type of track so I moved on to a Vendetta and a Vendetta ST. These mini's are tough and the racing is pretty fierce.

What mini's or micro's do any of you race either competetively or with friends for fun?

Tell me what you guys have.

your MLST might not have been the bomb on carpet- but they totally slay on dirt... for indoor carpet- the AE RC18 series is really hard to beat....

I agree.. the MLST was great on larger or out door areas. The track I am at is pretty tight and although the RC18B is a tough competetor, they seem to have issues with the steering servo set up. I have seen many rides roast the servo with minor hits. I am not that familiar with the 18B and I do think it is a great choice, but the vendetta series seems to rule at my track.

could be the size of the track or our driver abilities but I like the way the detta handles and it seems to hold up pretty well .

thanks for your input.

Have seen guys modify there RC18s to use the 81mg servo from Hitec. The nice thing about the Vendetta is that it uses a standard sized servo, just with the ears cut off.

For me, I have an RC18T factory team that has a brushless / lipo setup in it. but there are no tracks here to run it. Got it up for sale but still kind of not really wanting to since its so fun.

That is a tuff choice ... to sell or not to sell.... I just got into the mini's about a year and a half ago, and I think that they rule. Fast fun that you can take anywhere. My MLST had BL w/3c LiPo and it was awsome. With the track here to run on I went with the detta and detta ST because they are tuff and easy to set up for indoor racing. I still run the BL w/ a 2c Lipo in both.

I have a Mini Quake SE. Haven't raced it, but it handles my backyard track well. Fast with the GH4700 brushless/1400 mah batteries.

Question for MLST owners with a brushless lipo setup .

What brand or what ever differentials and diff pinions hold up worth a **** ??

I'm happy with the Atomic diffs I have but wore out my diff pinions that were left over from the Losi viscus diffs(that were **** and a waste of money).

I'm open for suggestions, I haven't ran my truck in 6-7 months because I want to buy something thats gonna hold up. I'm tired of rebuilding the dam thing over and over.

I had the Viscus diffs and I did not have any troubles with it, I ran 8900kv brushless and normally a 2s LiPo, but toward the end (before I old the MLST) I was running a 3s LiPo and I never had any troubles with the diffs. And I was racing this truck so its not like I was baby'n the diffs either.

I don't know what to say about your troubles with the diffs, but Im glad to hear the Atomic makes an alternative set up for those who have these troubles

Hop,

Glad to hear you had zero troubles with your diffs. I had probs from the start, they leaked befor I even finished putting the truck back together and wore out the gears in
6-8 packs. I'm confident my troubles were not user error, I've ben in the hobby for 20+ years and have a very technical/mechanical background. But, anything is possible ?
I dont want to spend another 50.00 bucks on something with that short of a life span
