BrianG will know that.. he has run mod1 gears with a 4600 in his. I think he had a 16t pinion, but not positive.

If using the 4600 motor, you don't want to go higher than 12t pinion. Any higher and the ESC and motor start getting too hot for my liking. And that's with stock tires. Other people have switched to a true S size or even an L size Feigao with better results. I'm currently using the 4600, 2s, and 12T pinion and the temps are just "acceptable" to my standards. Understandably, top speed isn't the best with this setup, but might be ok depending on the track size.

The MM motor external dimensions are close to an S size Feigao, but there are less coils inside (because of the motor wire to noodle wire connections) so a MM motor is more like a sub-S size motor. The crt.5, being 4wd really wants the greater torque from a slightly larger motor.

Soon, I plan to go with a 7S motor instead because I'd like to use 2.2" tires, which is like gearing up a tooth or two on the pinion.

But yes, the 5mm to 1/8" bore reducer works very well, and is a nice fit with no slop at all.

i was just curious I'm gonna be run`n a MM 5700 on my crt. 5 convert w/ a 6000mah 3s, and was wondering what a good pinion size was? also what is the reducer? i looked on rc-monster and didnt see anything like that? was also looking for a smaller pinion count, but was unable to find anything below 12 on rc-monster. thanks for the help.
